During the conference, Professor Elizabeth A. Thompson thompson@stat.washington.edu will deliver ten lectures in a most dynamic area of mathematical activity - one that lies at the confluence of the fields of Statistics, Probability, Molecular Biology and Genetics. Travel and subsistence support will be available for about 30 participants, and applications from female mathematical scientists, graduate students, recent Ph.D.s, applicants from under-represented groups,
