Social Activities
A conference banquet will be held during the middle of the week;
participants maybe asked to pay for this meal if University funding
is not available. We plan to have a picnic in McLain Park on the shore of
Lake Superior approximately 10 miles north of Houghton and a cruise on the
Portage Canal (that links two portions of Lake Superior) departing from
Houghton. We also plan to organize hiking and bird-watching trips and a
trip to the Oneida Casino in Baraga 30 miles south of Houghton.
