ETAB MODEL TUNING
The breakup constants of the ETAB model have been determined by matching
the cross-sectional drop size distributions in the near-field to the Phase
Doppler Anemometry (PDA) measurements conducted with the constant-volume
combustion cell of the LVV/ETHZ (Schneider 1995). The results are shown
in figure 3 for the injection time tinj=1.0 ms at 100do
(=15 mm), where do is the nozzle orifice diameter. The
improvements of the drop size and the drop velocity distributions over
the standard TAB computations are considerable.
Figure 3: Cross-sectional drop distributions for case A in the near-field
for tinj=1.0 ms after injection at 100do (=15
mm) downstream from the nozzle exit.
