First a message from Michigan T. Frog:
Hello my baby, Hello my darling Hello my rag time gal Send me a kiss by wire Baby my heart's on fire If you refuse me Darling you lose me Then I'll be left alone Oh baby, email me And tell me I'm your own.
The Fluids Research Oriented Group (FROG) is an organization of faculty and graduate students at Michigan Technological University whose primary purpose is to foster interdisciplinary research and education in fluid mechanics and related areas.
Our primary means to accomplish this is a weekly seminar/film series. At the present time these are held on Tuesdays at 4 pm in Chem Sci 201. Popcorn, coffee, and other beverages are provided. Anyone who is interested is welcome.

In regard to interdisciplinary fluid mechanics education, we are currently integrating a wide variety of fluid and flow problems. For example, in our applied math graduate course for engineers examples are drawn from viscoelastic shear flows, compressible aerodynamics, and groundwater flows. The connection between the types of partial differential eqns. which govern the flow phenomena, and the solution methodologies are emphasised.
The group is currently directed jointly by Faith Morrison(ChE) and Bob Kolkka (Math) . There are departmental liasons who disseminate FROG information to their faculty. They are:
Regionally, we are part of a larger organization, The Midwest Universities Fluid Mechanics Consortium, which consists of fluid mechanics researchers at the following universities:
