Abstract: |
Recently, there has been a resurgence of interest in identifying coefficients in elliptic PDEs from measurements of the solution in the interior of the domain. Most of the work done in this area is for the standard divergence-form scalar PDE, but some of the interesting applications, particularly in elastic imaging, involve systems of PDEs. In this talk, the speaker will survey the research done for scalar PDEs and discuss some extensions obtained by himself and his collaborators to the system of linear, isotropic elasticity. |
