Undergraduate Program
Minor in Mathematical Sciences
Students who wish to study mathematics beyond what is required for
their
major program may complete a Minor in the Mathematical Sciences.
Requirements:
- Calculus I (MA1135, MA1140, MA1160, or MA1161).
- Linear Algebra (MA2330, MA2320) OR Calculus II (MA2160, MA2140).
- At least one course from the theory core: MA3210, MA3310, MA3450,
MA3924, MA4330, MA4908, and MA4760.
- Any 4000 level course (excluding MA4945) or a second from the
theory
core.
- At least 10 MA credits numbered 3000 and above; by university
requirement,
at least 6 of these credits must be as free electives or extra credits.
Most students: 6 credits more
Many students only need to take 6 credits beyond what their major
program requires. For example, a (digital) EE major might take
MA3310 and MA4410 or a ChemE might take MA3450 and some MA45XX or
MA46XX or a CS major might take MA3210 and some MA42XX.
