Welcome to the graduate program in Mathematical Sciences at Michigan Technological University!

• PhD students are required to pass the Proficiency Examination in order to continue in the PhD program. Since this examination covers undergraduate-level mathematics, prospective students may wish to check it out.
• PhD students also must pass the Comprehensive Examination. Typically this is taken after at least two full years of graduate course work in our department.
